Issue 52 discusses an 1870 and 1880 census entry where the head of household has a different first name. Part of what is discussed is why I worked from the past to the more recent past and how much it takes to be consistent.
And you have to love this death certificate--at least the parents names are given. The names were a major help in connecting the 1870 and 1880 census entries, even though the death certificate is from 1940.
