Issue 1 of Volume 2 contains some of the problem-solving techniques that I use on my research trips to Salt Lake and Ft. Wayne. And there's some discussion of the problem-solving process in there as well. Interesting stuff and one of my favorite topcs, although we usually don't present it as stand-alone material.
